Day 1 - Peter

hello all-
Well made it to kingsland, ga after a long day riding into the wind. Went up A1A to jax beach, atlantic beach, and finally to the SJR Mayport fairy. Headed north through Amelia Island and Fernandina before turning west on 200 toward Yulee. Picked up 17N into kingsland and finished the day with 100.24 miles at 4:00. Camping tonight. Heres a few pics from the day. Enjoy!!!

Day 1 - David

Hello,
Started the day at 7:30am and rode about 50 miles to the St. Johns River Ferry, then 50 miles more to southern Georgia.
100.24 miles. Very windy conditions from the NW. We are camping at the KOA in Kingsland GA. (there's wireless in the campsite...its naaaa-ice) we got here at 3.50pm about 1.5hrs before planned.
Just had a delish meal and plan to sleep soon, and we still have 1hr of sun light.

Less than 24 Hours before DT

Hello all,
thanks for checking on us and our little adventure. Pete and I have been working on the bikes and the gear. We are ready!!!!
Work tonight, home, sleep and then pedal time ;)
I'm stoked about this uphill battle and will love to b out of town for a few days.

ONE WEEK!!!

Hello everyone,
I hope everyone enjoys reading about our adventures.

We leave in one week and we are all ready, just counting the days 'till we ride our bikes to North Carolina. I'm so stoked!!!

I will have pictures with my clean bike and the new wheels tomorrow.

I plan to keep facebook pretty up to date, but I need posts in this blog so I can recieve extra credit. Please post!!!

Peter- shoes and trailer test

This morning, David and I rode 25 miles in order to test my new shoes and the recently acquired Yakima trailer. David pulled the trailer and didn't seem to really even notice the weight, although it was empty. My shoes are perfect and just need a little breaking in. Took a few pics of the bikes and trailer over at Moses Creek for you all to see. Fun ride overall, but a little windy for my likes!!! Peace!

Peter - 4 weeks until departure

Well, our ride is fast approaching and I am definitely looking forward to the time to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Over the last few weeks David and I have slowly been collecting all the necessary tools, equipment, and gear we need for the 4 day ride. We haven't really done any training per say (besides the 100 miles a week we ride normally...), but I am confident we will have no problem in four weeks when we depart. Will post next week with update and further information... Peace!

David - Under 4 weeks to start

Hello everyone,

I have always wanted to do a blog, but never had the opportunity to do so. I have started this blog as extra credit for my class. Funny how it took extra credit to get something started.

My friend and I are going to start our trip to North Carolina in 29 days (March 15th). It seems that we are about 90% ready, and it feels that on departure day we will be all ready to go.

The trip will take 4 days of riding + 1 night in North Carolina. Our nights will be spent in campgrounds and hostels. If all goes 'as planed' we should be back home by March 20th.

I plan to do mobile/daily updates during the trips and maybe weekly ones before the starting date.

I need people from 6 different countries to post to my blog!!! please do so, and I will get extra credit for my class.
